No, the daily number cases are not sharply down.
Not even in EU. And EU is not just the countries you picked.
Maybe you picked only countries that are heavy coffee consumers, but the virus do not respect borders.
Europe as continent is turning bad and 7-day average is week behind it, you have to look at daily data. I am not happy about it, but it is just fact.
Therefore 7-d average will take turn up again soon.
The daily increase excluding Russia is 27% from Tuesday to Wednesday.
For today not all data are in, and we are already on 110 thousands (excl. Russia).
My guess is we will be even higher than yesterday.

The British variant is taking control over the situation in Europe and current measures are not able to slow it down.
You may ask, why the USA seems going different direction.
I assume it is due to different density of population and slightly different life style (less dependent on public services), and maybe some other aspects.
But Dr. Faucci is predicting worsening the situation in coming weeks also in the US.
Israel doctors also say their vaccination is now in the race with new strains.
Sadly, Europe is not running in this race, rather slowly walking and watching the virus galloping by.
