Could you send a link for what daily data you are using? Below is a Reuters link that looks similar to what I shared earlier. A week average is not "behind" on data but smooths out daily volatility as the EU has a marked Intraweek seasonality as to how the data is presented. Any marked daily increases will be dulled down doing it this way until successive days confirm or do not any one off increases/decreases but they will be reflected.
