When visiting farm to farm here in Sul de Minas to assess the Brazilian crop, impromptu stops along the way are often the best way to see the reality of the situation and even more so if a worker happens to come along to speak with. They don’t have any personal biases or market positions but simply understand the conditions because of years of hard work and the pride in their results. The expressions on his face and in his eyes showed the genuine concern for the damage done to the farm we pulled into, unannounced. He shook his head sadly, slightly bowed, showing his grief over what has happened and indicated that most farms in the area suffered the same fate. This is the reality here in Brazil.
