A television morning news program (channel 25 Boston) reported that orange juice and coffee prices might rise due to drought in Brazil. This is, of course, news for the average consumer, not directed at those who trade commodity markets. I never understood why consumers bought huge amounts of toilet paper when the pandemic first started but I often do not understand the irrational buying habits of the American consumer. Consumer panic buying of coffee might be just what those of us who are long need to deplete existing stores and focus attention on the present harvest (future supply). Thoughts on this notion..???
