Brazil may have 21m bags of coffee available to export in the next 12 months, a 55% drop from a year earlier due to reduced output and inventories, Sao Paulo-based Archer Consulting says in report.
Estimate assumes ending inventories in June 2021 of 8.25m bags
Also assumes production this year of 44m bags (27m of arabica and 17m of robusta) and domestic consumption of 23m bags
NOTE: Brazil crop agency still hasn’t released this year’s figures on final inventories
If using Conab’s production estimate of 46.9m bags, volume available to export would be 23.9m bags
Consumption of inventories or cuts to demand due to high prices are needed to balance the coffee market, Archer says
