Re: Report of fertilizer shortages in Brazil
I have closely watch the approximately 30% decline in Canada's recently harvested canola crop due to excessive heat and drought last summer. The price of canola has reflected this decline. Canada is the world's largest supplier of canola. I've read quite a few articles reporting the same lack of fertilizer and/or much higher costs of fertilizer there too. I'll guess that this problem is not specific at all to Brazilian farmers. Another reason to expect inflation in food prices?
