I think we can agree that today’s consumer swallows price increases a lot easier than the consumer of the 70’s. To put things in perspective $13,570 was the average household income in 1977 today that number is $79,700. Yet you can still purchase a pound of coffee for almost the same price as 50 years ago. Coffee is an absolute bargain compared to any other food item.
Looks to me it will be quite difficult to cut consumption in the developed countries.
I could be wrong.
