(Bloomberg) --
Most growing regions are expected to get widespread precipitation next week, increasing soil moisture levels for summer corn and soybean seeding, says Marco Antonio dos Santos, a meteorologist at Brazil’s Rural Clima.
Showers are expected from Sept. 19 in the south, which will also improve conditions for wheat development
Beneficial rain will start next week in central Brazil, including top producing Mato Grosso state, and will likely persist in the following weeks, allowing soybean seeding during an ideal period
Irregular precipitation in past days encouraged some Mato Grosso farmers to start seeding
In the Matopiba region, in Brazil’s north and northeast, regular rain is expected only in the second half of October, making soy seeding possible by Oct. 10
BRAZIL COFFEE
Widespread rain in the southeast from Sept. 21 may trigger coffee flowering from the end of September to the beginning of October, Santos says
Precipitation should persist in the region for the next 30 days, favoring coffee crops
