In the meantime, I found this other programme, which I remember as being one of the best I've seen on the subject of Crown Jewels and Coronation, which may be of interest to your readers. It dates from the 1980s and focuses on the five elements that bolt together to make up the whole.
Most importantly, it drives home the point that coronation is at heart a transforming event that elevates and strengthens the Sovereign for a special mission, which is the principal reason it has been retained.
It also recalls for us the antiquity of what we most recently saw in 1953 and connects this to good research into the age of St Edward's Crown, which had previously been thought to be entirely a work of 1660.
There is also a section, which discusses the building of the present Westminster Abbey in the early 13th century, and its unique design in England to be the location of coronation.
