You can transfer your AncestryDNA data to FamilyTreeDNA which will allow you to join the Devon DNA Project and participate in the FTDNA matching database. You will need to download your raw DNA data file from Ancestry. You can find further information here:

The AncestryDNA test is an autosomal DNA test which gives you matches with genetic cousins on all your ancestral lines but is best used for finding connections within about the last five or six generations. This means that you do get matches on both your paternal and maternal sides and you will potentially get matches with relatives who share your Hooking ancestors.
As a female you do not have a Y-chromosome. The Y-chromosome is passed on by a father to all his male children and can be used to investigate the direct paternal line. If you wish to use DNA testing for your Hookings ancestry you will need to find a male relative with the surname to take a DNA test on your behalf. Y-DNA testing provides matches with both recent and distant cousins and is therefore more useful for looking at more distant connections.
Best wishes
