1623, July 27 John Hunwill married Elizabeth Bromhill at Devon, Ermington [John Honywill, son of William, was baptized 22 January, 1598. John Honniwell, son of John, was baptised at Devon 1 Oct., 1626 was likey same as previous. I BELIEVE this same John Honywill was a ship's surgeon. The date of his marriage matches exactly that mentioned in the "Jesse de Forest Journal." The journal memorilizes an expedition (1623-1625) to the "wilde coste" by a group of Walloon and French whose families awaited them back at Leiden. They were sailing under the newly formed Dutch West India Company. While at Leiden thwy were close neighbors of the Pilgrims. Their ship, Pigeon, was stalled at Plymouth and details an interesting event between the crew while docked in the area leaving them desparate for additional crew members. Tells of their new acquired surgeon getting married. The Jesse de Foprest Jornal is a beautiful piece of history now held at the British National Library. I'm seeking information about same and those that partook of this Expedition from 1623-1625 to the "Wilde Coste".
