Suitability of DNA results

Posted by Jane Logan on 28/11/2021, 20:35:53

I have DNA test results from Ancestry and Living DNA. My father's family is almost exclusively from Devon with confirmed family trails back to around 1800. My father's name was Skinner and his mother was a Bradbeer. Are my results suitable for the project?

Hi Jane

Yes your AncestryDNA results can be used at FTDNA. Here are the details of the transfer programme:

You'll need to download your raw data from AncestryDNA to do the upload. Once you have an FTDNA account and kit number you'll be able to apply to join projects.

Best wishes

Debbie

Done that, and got the account and kit number, what do I do next?

From your FTDNA go to the Projects Menu and fill in the Join Request to apply to join the Devon Project.
