Word on the street is that Bennett did part company with the Brarites last year -- possibly by simply not recarding. Some say he toyed with the idea of returning to Labour but was told that his past work as a Ken Livingstone aide and his long-time association with Brar (who apparently endorsed the 9/11 attacks) made him toxic as far as the Corbyn leadership was concerned.
