I looked up "Motherland." It's a novel, not a biography, but one very much based on the author and her mother and their relationship. If you read the Guardian piece Donald Maclean provides a link for, it's clear that the book is not merely "unflattering"; see especially the end. And the piece does suggest that the author finally shares her mother's view of capitalism.
