Interesting, isn't it? And oh - so reasonable. But whatever the post-RCP milieu is now, at the time it was a classic cult. I remember a piece in 7 Days by a former member of the RCP describing its internal regime and its attempts to control all aspects of its members' lives. I suppose the contrarianism, by separating RCPers from the wider left, was all part of that.
