Unite the Union major Policy Conference

First major Unite the Union event since
Lockdown partially ended.
All delegates, observers, admin, press
have to be NHS negatively tested by taking
a simple home test before hand.
Lots on Agenda, especially opposition to
employers strategy of Hire and Fire.

Unite has had some successes protecting
pay/salaries and conditions.
E.g.: 350 Go Ahead bus drivers, men and women all Unite members secured a victory over the Go Ahead employer in North
Manchester in early 2021.

Should be an interesting Policy Conference
which will possibly be Chaired by Sister
Sharon Graham new General Secretary.
700 delegates expected.
A large press and media presence.
And many visitors/observers
Lots of Fringe events.
Will keep Former Communists informed of
developments.
Obviously the big capitalist press will
try to paint a negative picture of hundreds,
representing millions, of workers delegates.
