Francis does have a point, Mervyn. The final years of the CPGB were dominated by factional struggles; we seemed to spend more time fighting one another than fighting the class enemy. This continued even after the formation of the NCP. Better to be in separate organisations that are prepared to collaborate with one another when there is agreement on a campaign. Sometimes couples get on better after a divorce . . .
