be of interest to all socialists, trade unionists and community activists
I will report back afterwards.
As usual there will be no elections
for the Management Committee, because
there are 8 places and 8 nominees.
.
It's an overwhelmingly CPB shop.
Our paper used to be the miracle of
Fleet Street, now it's the miracle of
Croydon, after the Pandemic.
It's housed next to the CPB HQ.
45 mainly full time union officials
and CPB big wigs sit on the board.
Much better than the capitalist press which is full of commercial and banking brain dead executives
But for a small title, having such a big Management Committee is unweildy.
And expensive.
Our paper survives by the readers generous support and the Fighting Fund.
We need a lot more readers to be
viable.
We run at a big deficit.
But without our paper the trade union
and Labour movement would be weaker.
I think more ordinary union members
and workers should serve on the Management.
There are 5 resolutions to this year's
AGM.
More later.
