How will you organise the production of goods and services that people need? There will be no organisation. People will just decide themselves what to do. The state will have been completely abolished so there will be no socialist state. There will be no formal organisation of production as that is a carry over of capitalism and we don’t believe in any forms of authority.
What incentives will there be for people to work to produce the goods and services people need? There will be no incentives. People will do as much or as little as they like.
So, there will be no formal obligation of those who are able to work? No.
Will there be any consequences for those who choose just to laze around?? No. Everyone will be free to do as much or as little work as they like. Everyone will have free access to the goods and services they need.
But who will actually produce the goods and services if there is no obligation or incentive to work? We are sure there will be sufficient numbers of public minded workers who will work for nothing to produce everything that people need, including for those who choose not to work.
Most modern day goods and services require a complex division of labour to produce which in turn needs some form of organisation to deliver. If you don’t believe in authority or organisation, how will such goods and services be produced? We are sure sufficient numbers of socialist workers will spontaneously get together and agree everything with regard to the division of labour, everyone will agree, everyone will democratically agree to place themselves within the division of labour, to organise ourselves (not that we believe in organisation), there will be no conflict or issues. In any case, if there were, we have no state administration to manage or contain any conflict.
Sounds like a SPGB socialist economy would inevitably be largely based on individual handicrafts and people producing for their own needs, rather than collectively working to produce the goods and services people need. Isn’t that going back to a pre capitalism? Yes…. But vote for us anyway to abolish capitalism and achieve an instant socialist paradise.
