Re: CPGB attitude to hardline opposition in the USSR and elsewhere
The CPGB had no control over information about the 'Anti-Party Group', as this was all coming from the USSR via its own news channels, and was being picked up and reported by the Western media. Of course, it was almost impossible to discover what Khrushchev's critics within the CPSU leadership were actually saying in their own words, as the politics were all kept behind closed doors and the APG knew better than to break party discipline and go public.
