Like most on here I became a fan in 2001 but my story begins at MIS. I was 7 yrs old when I met Harvick and the only driver I met that day. That's when it all began. From then I've met him multiple times (anyone remember the dunk tank at the 2002 fan club), and he's always greeted me the same as 2001; appreciation for his fans. I'm right there with a lot of you. I missed countless school events for the Gatorade Duels, sneaking off at events or parties to check on the race. Cheering Harvick on to those 60 cup victories, and getting ticked off when the week don't go well (like blocking the leader for a teammate.) That's just it though I'm not a fan anymore. It's much more, Harvick became a role model years ago for me. Some ask how is that possible you don't know him personally. I've listened to every interview, I watched how he conducts business, expresses himself to make his point. I've used his week by week playoff mentality during a hard work week. I see how he handles his family life and what's important outside of the racecar since I was 7. It started out as a superhero like figure to a 7 yr old to now a successful family/businessman that I hope to accomplish one day. So like Harvick this will be my final season. To that childhood hero that's still in me there will never be a replacement. I'm going to soak every moment up this year as I hope Kevin does. When that final checkered flag flies over that 4 car like everyone else I'll be saying thank you. Thank you for my childhood! Thank you for those heart pounding moments! Thank you for your kindness! Thank you for the lessons! Most of all thank you for being a large part of who I am today! I BELIEVE THAT WE WILL WIN!!!
