Re: Princess Mathilde Bonaparte jewels. Rose brooch
The incredibly ornate rose brooch is now in the Al Thani collection. Vincent Meylan identified Mellerio as the designer and retailer of this jewel.

According to Hans Nadelhoffer Cartier
, (2007) p. 319 it was purchased by Cartier in the 1904 auction. The firm then sold it to Mrs Cornelius Vanderbilt in the same year.
Arthur posted some stunning photos on the RJWMB of this brooch from an exhibition of Al Thani treasures. http://members2.boardhost.com/royal-jewels/msg/1484783444.html
This photo showing a model wearing the brooch (as publicity for the 2004 auction) highlights the size of this brooch.
Do we know if any of her pieces ended up in any other collections that we know to be in existence?
