There are numerous press references to Queen Victoria wearing the small diamond crown with diamonds and pearls or sometimes a row of diamonds scattered on her veil.
Before the death of Prince Albert Queen Victoria quite often wore floral wreaths into which she pinned various diamond jewels. Very often these were diamond stars. It seems that HM continued the practice during her widowhood, even when she wore the small diamond crown or a tiara.
Some paintings depicting Queen Victoria with floral wreaths.
Photo showing a recreation of her wedding day.
Queen Victoria often wore such jewel enhanced wreaths for State Balls, State Concerts and sometimes for Drawing Rooms.
Two typical reports.
Diamond stars were a staple in Queen Victoria's ornaments for her headdress. I suspect that she had a considerable number of these as her daughters were also reported to have worn diamond stars with wreaths.
What I don't know is whether these were all mounted as hair pins or if some were brooches which she used as hair ornaments.
