Well spotted J-F! I think it is a match. Because of the limitations imposed by the old photos it is impossible to be 100% sure but a wavy pattern very like that in Queen Mary's brooch can be seen. Marc, Queen Mary's brooch has been worn on a few occasions by QEII. I suspect it is still with her. In her journal Queen Victoria noted how the Duchess of Kent's jewels were divided up, but the record was concerned only with some of the major items - for example the diamond fringe, the amethyst set which even then Queen Victoria said was to be an heirloom, etc.
