I'd also maybe add a fringe into the loop along the palmytre (I going to try every spelling for that name bar looking it up lol). So perhaps there was a choice of three, sounds like a reasonable number.
Interestingly I've wondered about the Greville emerald on the Princess Eugenie. Was it a part of a selection that got offered to her to choose from or was it maybe that Eugenie knew about it? Perhaps she had seen it at a private family event?
Dear MarcA,
Indeed it is an excellent question !
To my own list, we have on least in the vault :
- The double greek tiara (with no information about this tiara) ;
- The lozenge tiara (worn by Princess Margaret in 1965 - information given by royal sartorial splendor)
- The Strathmore tiara (I do not understand why this tiara is not worn) ;
- the small scroll tiara worn by Princess Anne to mark her 21 birthday in august 1971 ;
- Maybe an other diamond tiara inherited from Mrs Ronald Greville.
Maybe she had a choice between the Strathmore and the lozenge...we will never know.
- The sapphire and diamond tiara worn by Queen Mary and Princess Margaret ;
- The pearl, ruby and diamond indian tiara ;
.....and maybe the 2 sapphire unseen tiaras !!!

The duchess has said she was given a choice:

So what do we think were the other choices?
I must admit I'm a bit stumped. I'd have though the fact that the DoC wore the scroll would have knocked that out of the selection.
So maybe the palmyrete (please someone give me the right spelling) or the Empress Marie sapphire bandeau or both.
