So many have posted images of sparkling jewels this year that it is hard for me to decide what is the most sparkling. I thought of the wonderful photo OmerH posted of QEII's Grima brooch, the eye catching images of some of the Bourbon Parma jewels which were auctioned and many, many other wonderful images which posters have posted. And that includes the wonderful images of insignia of royal orders.
Some have posted images which I have never seen on any other boards before. Thank you all for that. I have been glued to my computer screen at times. Many thanks to everyone for their contributions!
The board reached a six months milestone on 24 December. What should we call that? I don't know. But I renewed the board with its functioning archive for another 6 months. That is as long as the system allows me to pay for. If I could pay for longer I would - but that is the system.
Now for a little sparkle for New Year.
I really could not decide what was the most sparkling of 2018, so I decided to post a couple of images of QEII's gift from Canada -- of the so called Snowflake brooch.
In the cold of the northern hemisphere (where most posters live) a glittering snowflake must resonate. Apologies to those of us who live in the southern hemisphere. As a consolation, I am including the wattle brooch - for sunshine and warmth, not necessarily Australia.
What was your most glittering jewel seen in 2018?
