Very interesting! I've just enrolled in a 'the art of medieval travel' course, and one of the things I'm looking to research is how people travel with jewellery, which always fascinates me! My mom and my grandmothers just pack theirs with paper towels and put them in a ziplock bag inside their purses, but it's interesting to learn how royals transport their jewels!
I remember Queen Silvia commenting the Leuchtenberg Sapphires being easy to travel with since the tiara goes flat, which probably helps for the person carrying all those jewels through airports and security!
