Queen Mary, who was her godmother, was the principal guest at the wedding of Lady Mary Creww-Milnes to the 9th Duke of Roxburghe in 1935. (I think, but have not double checked, that George V was godfather to the groom)

Once again I disagree with the information in the Sotheby's catalogue when the jewel was sold at the auction held on 27-28 May 2015.

The brooch was lot 636 http://www.sothebys.com/en/auctions/ecatalogue/2015/duchess-roxburghe-l15317/lot.636.html and the auction notes imply that it belonged to the Duchess' mother, the Marchioness of Crewe, who obviously wore a somewhat similar jewel but with a different coloured enamel.
