But I'm not 100% sure. It's like if Queen Mary's is more square shape than lozange shape.

As you mentioned, it seems to be a round central stone in the center.

We can't say for sure that the 4 stones in the angles are pearls.

Could it be that it is light bouncing off the diamonds in the centre which makes Queen Mary's brooch look as if it has a larger stone in the centre? The rest, the shape and the pearls seem to match. Or am I imagining things?

No, I don't think you're imagining things! Dimensions, shape and pattern certainly seem to match Princess Alexandra's clasp, and reflection of light would affect the central diamond much more than the pearls in the corners.
