There is actually an investment fund here in Australia that used to buy pink diamonds. They were advertising recently that this was the last opportunity to buy into the fund due to diamond shortage . I presume they are going to start to sell out the remaining stones and wind the fund up.

The next big one is probably Tanzanite. It is only found in one mine or area I believe and the stones are becoming increasingly rare.

The Australian Broadcasting Commission (ABC) has just posted an item about a stunning collection of the very rare Argyle pink and red diamonds which will be offered for tender. They are among the last of these diamonds from the mine in the East Kimberley, Western Australia.

For non-Australian readers the reference to the collection being "launched on Country" means that the launch is in/on land where the Gelganyem people are the traditional owners.
