I have finally found a photo of Queen Alexandra wearing the "badge" with the leek which was part of the wedding gift from North Wales. The occasion was a visit to Cardiff to open a dry dock in 1907. Although the press did not describe the Queen's jewels, her dress was described as pale heliotrope, so the emeralds in the brooch would have been shown to advantage. I would love to know if the Queen wore the other part of the gift: the brooch/pendant with the Prince of Wales feathers at her throat.
