Apart from the large diamonds, the auction includes jewels which had formerly belonged to Dame Nellie Melba. For those see lots 185, 186 and 187. I wonder if they are being offered for sale by the current Lady Vestey? When Nellie Melba's now famous Cartier necklace was displayed in the Cartier Exhibition in Canberra last year an item published by The Australian noted that Melba's granddaughter, Pamela, Lady Vestey, had given the Cartier necklace to the current Lady Vestey. Perhaps some of the other jewels were also given to her.

Another set of jewels in the November auction belonged to Beatrice Forbes, Lady Granard, the person who initially commissioned the Indian tiara now in the collection of the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester. The Granard jewels are lots 189 to 194 inclusive.
The three brooches in lot 194 came from the 1937 Cartier tiara seen below.
