Re: Marie Antoinette's rubies???
Marie Therese was supposed to have sold her mothers rubies to her cousin the Austrian Emperor soon after her release from captivity and arrival in Vienna in 1795. Reset for the beautiful Empress Elizabeth at the time of her marriage they later disappeared with most of the Imperial gems after the fall on the monarchy when entrusted to a untrustworthy retainer to sell
It's entirely possible that Marie Antoinette's rubies ended up in America. No one knows for sure what the contents of the jewels that were stolen in 1792. The Sancy Diamond ended up in Russia and the Hope ended up in England.
We also don't know what really happened to the jewels that she is supposed to have sent to her sister Marie Christine, viceroy of the Netherlands, for safekeeping.
The closest thing to Marie Antoinette's rubies that I know of is the ruby parure owned by Marie Therese, Duchess of Angouleme.
I found a fascinating article on Nitot and the French Crown Jewels which focuses on the rubies: https://traveltoeat.com/napoleon-and-the-french-crown-jewels/
