first of all, thank you very much for your work and the time you spend in your research. This leads to real results instead of speculative guesswork.
In view of this I strongly believe that the forum should remain open. In particular, the fact that it is not just about royal and noble jewels for me makes the forum interesting. Events with all the glammer are really nice, but always the same juxtapositions of pictures of the Nobel Prize awards I find redundant. The theme is so much more. Why not take up the Renaissance or the pearl trade or the handling of jewelery at the court of Louis XIV.? Modern jewelry? It might also make it easier for other participants to participate, perhaps because it is a bit closer to their own profession.
It seems to me that many others are concerned with me; often there is hardly any time left next to the job. Although it is of course a good exercise, it takes time to produce a reasonably understandable post in english. Typically, the number of posts, e.g. in the RJWMB decreases during the weeks before Christmas. There is so much to do ...
In addition, I agree to Vincent and other speakers: Protect yourself a little. There does not have to be a new post every day. If one wants to have that, then he or she will have to become active and take on a topic.
Should the board continue?
