As you specified, it is very rare to be challenged by an unknown jewelry (statement jewels) worn by Queen Elizabeth II (the last necklace that could be qualified in this category would be the collet necklace worn by the QEII dates in 2012 on the occasion of the opening of the olympic games). This evening gave me joy in this wonderful world of jewelry to post again.
I would like to express my great gratitude for the work done on jewelry in general and especially for those of Ronald Greville.
Bernadette, you are our australia rose and I want to thank you for your kindness and your wisdom (generally and not only on the forum).
Thanks you so much for your researches as a historian, you have found many mysteries ... and include the one with the famous and unique photo of Mrs. Greville wearing the diadem of emeralds and an emerald necklace (certainly worn last night by the Queen Elizabeth II).
I take the opportunity to this post that many sites use this photo without giving its origin. I want to correct this (I have not found your post).
You were also the only one with Vincent to find during your researches that Madame Greville had at least 2 emerald necklaces (see 3 now as you suppose with maybe a long necklace of emeralds).
I want to thank you for this work and all of your work in general. I hope that they will someday be materialized in a book.
You are for me a real friend ... and it is the proof that links can be created by internet.
Vincent, I would also like to express my gratitude for your excellent book on Boucheron and especially your chapter on the jewelry of Mrs Greville.
*Your writings are complete to date. I also thank you for your many articles in PDV and for your post yesterday night on instagram concerning Elizabeth II's necklace.
Finally, dear Thomas, thank you for doing the link of the necklace worn by Queen Elizabeth II and the photo found by Beth.
This is certainly a new mystery that is solved today. This new necklace worn by Queen Elizabeth raises once again the extent of the royal collection and of course that of the Greville heritage.
Last but not least (and to answer Beth about his blog), I was a little blushed because I had the impression that all the great mysteries had been found in royal families and especially those of the British Royal Family.
In this case, for the royal family of England, few known jewels worn by former queens (Queen Victoria, Queen Alexandra, Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother) are in the vault .... (with the exception for example : the pearl and diamond stomacher, the resille cartier necklace ...) most of them have now been worn.
To answer to Beth concerning her blog : I had difficulties to post for lack of knowledge to be shared
Best regards,
Franck
Wonderful find Thomas! With two huge pieces debuted decades after entering the royal collection, it makes me wonder what else is still hidden from the Bequest.
This necklace really suits the Vladimir Tiara!
