How I wish I could find more information to solve the mystery!!
One thing I do know is that a lot of the descriptions in the press come from one or two syndicated sources. Usually one or other of the newspapers or journals aimed at ladies was the original source. In most instances the information those media outlets worked on came either from guests or sometimes the hostess herself. During Mrs Greville's era reporters (unless invited into private homes -- and that was rare) had to rely on those people as the source of their information. The inability of journalists and photographers to penetrate private parties or court functions is one of the reasons why photographs are so few and far between.
