That is an interesting concept 992234177. Until G Munn published his book on tiaras, I don't think that many realised there were two fringes. I had completely overlooked the idea that the press might have assumed there was only one fringe tiara.

I wonder if the journalists at the time were aware of the jewels which Queen Victoria left to the Crown? Or did that information come only with the publication of Twinning's book?
