The new permanent Fabergé exhibition at the Amalienborg palace museum was opened today by Queen Margrethe and Princess Benedikte. The exhibition features many prominent works of Fabergé gifted by the Romanovs to their Danish relatives and also some items that belonged to Grand Duchess Anastasia Mikhailovna who was the mother of Queen Alexandrine. The biggest surprise is that the exhibition includes Queen Alexandrine's sapphire tiara that was auctioned off by the three daughters of Count Christian of Rosenborg in 2018.
The exhibition features items belonging to the Amalienborg museum and some items lent to the museum by Queen Queen Anne-Marie, Princess Benedikte and Count Ingolf of Rosenborg.
