I have read that the amethysts were mounted to wear as a tiara; however, in the display at the V & A they appear to be separate segments mounted on a metal display frame, rather than a tiara frame.

We know that Edith, Marchioness of Londonderry wore these enormous gemstones as a corsage ornament on various occasions.
I wonder if she also wore them as a hat ornament?
The photo below shows her at the 1922 Royal wedding.
Could the pear shaped brooch seen on Lady Londonderry's hat in the photo below also be an amethyst?
Could it be the pear shaped jewel seen in the painting of Frances Anne, Marchioness of Londonderry?
