Yes this is very sad news...not surprising. Maybe we could mark the occasion by having a thread on Danish jewells or flower jewells. The queens nickname in her family is apparently Daisy.

The Royal House has just confirmed that Queen Margrethe has cancelled all planned activities and events related to her 80th Birthday this April.
Such sad news. I was looking forward to a magnificent display of jewelry!
