I have almost thought that this necklace could easily be split into a tiara and a pair of bracelets which would make it much more wearable. The rubies given their size must be worth a fortune.

Thanks for the ID Frank. Something just stood out however more than ever. Surely the ruby and diamond necklace bib is convertible to a tiara by the looks of it. I wonder if had the DoCorn debuted this necklace as a tiara in the first instance it may not have attracted all of the at times negative press reports of same being a Saudi gift as tiaras are not hardly offered as official gifts, but then it's really not known if this particular jewel may have been offered in a private capacity and not an official one. Could someone state or clarify categorically if a royal happens to be on an official tour if they are inhibited from say receiving a private gift? And when foreign royals visit the UK and present gifts are those gifts considered official as the host would be just receiving or rather hosting a foreign royal? I am sure I read somewhere that if a royal receives a gift and has an affinity to it HM could allow that royal to keep the item personally providing that they pay taxes and insurance on the said piece. Anyways, I would like to see the said ruby and diamond necklace worn as a tiara Kokoshnic style.
Regards,
Dave.
I had never seen before that the Duchess of Cornwall wearing a ruby and diamond bracelet with the Saudi Ruby necklace.
Just to share :
