There is a list of 66 Jewels in the book drawn up in 1902 and it mentions the giver to each of them
Csaba's list below prompted me to explore what I could find in the way of images of the wedding gifts given to Princess Marie of Edinburgh when she married the Crown Prince of Romania. I'll do a separate post to show one jewel which I don't think has been identified previously.
In this I would like to clarify the origins of the jewels she wore for her wedding day.
According to various newspapers the tiara and cross which is hanging as a pendant to a diamond riviere were presents from her mother, the then Duchess of Edinburgh. The diamond necklace was the gift of the King of Romania. Only one paper disputed this description: The Times which said that Princess Marie wore only a diamond necklace.
The Times/i]
Obviously, as the photo shows, the paper was incorrect. There seems to be no reason to question that the tiara and cross were her mother's gifts, as stated by numerous papers.
The question I have not yet solved is who gave her the brooch she wore?
It can be seen more clearly in this detail from a newspaper.
I am aware that Ursula has a charming publication about Princess Marie's wedding jewels https://royal-magazin.de/romania/marriage-marie-edinburgh.htm where she notes (using an excerpt from the Graphic ) that the tiara was the gift of the Duchess of Edinburgh, but further down in the page Ursula also has a list of the wedding gifts as given by the Illustrated London News and the words "diamond coronet" are a link to this page https://royal-magazin.de/romania/romania-marie-diamond-circlet-tiara-cartier-diadem.htm where it is said that a tiara of diamond loops was the wedding gift.
Perhaps I have become confused reading the material, as I know I am largely relying on Chrome to provide a translation. Nevertheless, it seems to me that there two different tiaras, and that the one worn by Queen Marie on her wedding day is most likely to have been the one her mother gave as a present at that time.
