The Duchess of Kent used a smaller chain to made from one collet necklace - a 2 row collet. Can not find it at the moment, but there is one picture from her from the backside, which you could see these fittings.
At first, she use a bracelet of diamonds-no collets. Previous Message
b- The Duchess of Kent (Princess Marina)
She had on least 3 diamond collet necklaces (maybe 4).
Two of them (on least) were worn before the death of Queen Mary.
1° Diamond Rivière of 36 stones, which was also a wedding present of King George V to his new daughter-in-law, Princess Marina.
Maybe now worn by Princess Michael

2° A diamond collet necklace from Princess Louise ?
3° A diamond collet necklace from Princess Helena of Greece (Her mother) ?
Maybe diamonds from the Romanov Diamond Ribbon Bow Brooch were used to lengthen her necklaces ? (The large diamond bow brooch with double festoon of diamond collets and two large single diamond drops)
