Re: Queen Maud's jewels at Opening of UK Parliament 1901
I think the brooch that she wore at her waist is the one that she also wore for her coronation. It has a sunburst design, you can see the spikes in the pictures from both occasions. At her coronation she wore it directly below the bow brooch. I can’t recall who gave it to her (it’s not her husbands wedding gift). I think the brooch was inherited by princess Ragnhild, and if I recall correctly it was worn by Ingeborg Lorentzen Ribeiro for the 80th birthday party for king Harald and Queen Sonja.
