I have found a photo of Queen Mary wearing the large brooch/badge to the Trooping of the Colour in 1928.
So far I haven't found a photo from 1927.
In 1926 the event was cancelled due to the strikes in the UK.
I am still trying to see if I can find an image from 1925 and 1924.
It is clear that Queen Mary was not wearing it on her hat (as was her habit) in photos from 1923 or earlier.
