Thanks Franck. I've looked in my edition of Leslie Field's book and cannot find the reference to a pink topaz. But, I know that Leslie Field has subsequently released other editions of her work, so perhaps it is in that.

I also glanced through Pope Hennnessy's biography, but could not find any relevant information -- but I have not re-read the book thoroughly.
