Strange you should make this analogy seeing that the loaning of the set to Kensington Palace still leaves many questions as to if it was basically returned to the RC or was secretly bought back by the main line royal family or if indeed loaned to the RC. The statements surrounding its display at Kensington are yet vague and leaves one to wonder if it will be returned to the Fifes or if they give the set up for inheritance taxes costs as they did with the other supposed Fife tiara. It the statement was very ambiguous to me and no one knows the behind the scenes deal as family is involved. I wouldn't be surprised if it was in the end returned to the RC though.
Regards,
Dave.

Hopefully at some point in the future, the history of this parure will be considered in detail in a book about the British royal collection and its ownership may be addressed.

Interesting observation Janet! I guess it is back to the drawing board.
