I am very glad to see Princess Beatrice wearing the Queen Mary's diamond fringe tiara ! What a real surprise ! I would have not have bet for this tiara !
It is a real sentimental choice !
To be honest, I would have imagined that she would have worn The Strathmore tiara !
Last but not least, We have still 6 tiaras which are in the vault waiting for being worn :
- the Double Greek key tiara worn once by Princess Anne from QEQM,
- the Strathmore rose tiara,
- the Lozenge tiara,
- the pearl and diamond tiara worn once by Princess Anne for a portrait,
- Queen Mary’s sapphire and diamond bandeau tiara and
- the small Indian ruby tiara.

But wouldn't it have become klnown if the York tiaras had been sold as it i quiet a wellknown piece.
One the ond side i like the sentimental chhice that Beatrice got to wear the same tiara her graqndmother for her wEdding but then i'M also a bit disappointed as i hoped we woild get to see one on the long not seen tiaras from the Vaults as we did for the last Werddings.
Now we will probably have to wear for ages to see them reappear. Previous Message
I suspect that is a distinct possibility Kat Max, as we know that the Duchess has had financial difficulties. It would be interesting to know.
On the other hand, if the tiara is still with the Duchess, I strongly suspect that the tabloid media would have a field day in making comparisons between the marriage of the Duchess and those of her daughters, if one of them wore it on their wedding day. How distracting that would be for the bride, not to mention the possibility of spoiling their special day!
I, for one, am very glad that The Queen lent both of her granddaughters tiaras from her collection to avoid such a scenario. The brides could enjoy their day without undue comment, and bask in the interpretation that they enjoyed Her Majesty's favour by the loan of special tiaras from HM's collection. A wonderful PR coup!
