I am very eager to read your post about a second emerald tiara worn by Mrs Ronald Greville.

Dear Franck,
Another great post by you.
I do agree with you re the necklace looking very much like the Emerald one worn by the Queen at the diplomatic reception last December.
The tiara does not look like the Meander tiara inherited from Princess Alice. To me in shape it looks lkke the Dutch ruby Peacock tiara..with a central diamond at the top front the size of the stuart diamond or one of the large cullinan ones.
I have not seen any reports of Mrs Greville such a large stone.
Queen Mary only referred to nice pearls and emeralds had she had such a diamond then she would have commented on this in her letter to the Queen Mother when referrng to the Greville inheritance.
I have a suspicion that she might have had a second emerald tiara and will post on this later in the week.

Dear all,
I have enlarged the best photo of Mrs Greville at the 1937 coronation.
Despite the fact that we can't see the tiara worn (certainly the double Greek key tiara worn by Princess Anne in 2005) I do think that we can see that she was wearing a very large emerald necklace (Maybe the one worn by QEII last december).
We can see the emeralds (black stones).
What do you think ?
It is not Mrs. Ronald Greville but the Duchess of Albany... I wish one day that I could find a better photo of Mrs Greville at the Coronation.
Very best regards,
Franck
