As far as I know this is the first of the jewels belonging to any member of the Greek royal family to have been sold in recent times. Not only the necklace, but also the matching bracelet is being sold. Perhaps it is no longer to the Queen's taste.

I wonder how she acquired the jewels in the 1960s? From a member of the family, family friend or a wealthy Greek monarchist?
